There are free options everywhere. In our
Freecycle you were not required to offer anything to the group but if you did
people were more likely to choose you to give things to when you asked for
something they offered. If you consider the square foot cost of your house,
think about what storing junk you don't love is really costing you over the
years. When you need something, random, short term, or disposable, put up a "looking
for" post in one of these services and you may get what you are looking
for at no cost. Our Freecycle had a very firm policy on no loaning things, that
way there was no chance of something failing to be returned.
