Don't buy what you can borrow.

If you need something for a single project, see if you can borrow it or even rent it for a lesser price. Why let that large piece of equipment take up those square feet of garage floor space just because you felt like you needed to buy it? Don't rent what you will need regularly enough to support the purchase. Convenience should not regularly be the excuse for paying more for something you don't require.
