There are a lot of opportunities to earn college
credit in high school. Some schools offer during the day college classes or
dual credit classes (both high school and college credit in the same class) to
a variety of students. Although some schools choose to only offer to top
students, this is not the case for all schools. If it is not an option, high
schoolers can often take evening classes at the local university or community
college. In my experience, high school chemistry was nearly identical to year
one college chemistry. This was a nice combination because it was a lot of the
same studies and concepts which reduced the stress of "taking a college
class" but I was still able to earn the credit - including the lab.
